MotoGP - Australian GP - Race
Hello MiniFans!
The Australian Grand Prix was finally a crazy race that didn't need the rain to become a madness for the riders. Cal Crutchlow took his 2nd victory of the year on a race that will be remembered. Wanna know what happened? Keep reading!
At the start Pol Espargaró overtook Marc Marquez who made a bad start of the race, but the 2016 MotoGP champion overtook him a couple of turns later. The Yamaha riders had to make a comeback race while they were starting the GP out of the top 10.
At the front so many riders were having battles for the podium, like Aleix overtaking Petrucci, but Crutchlow overtook both riders and took now the 3rd position, while we saw Viñales and Rossi fighting with Hayden who was defending the position, but when the italian overtook his future teammate, both riders took the position to the Repsol rider.
We also enjoyed a great battle between Crutchlow and both Espargaró brothers, when Cal overtook Pol, Aleix overtook both riders, so Cal had to do the same now with the older Espargaró brother, but the british could make it a few moments later.
Rossi become the fastest rider on track and overtook Pol, Dovizioso and Aleix without problems and he reached the podium after starting 15th on the grid, now the mission for Crutchlow and Rossi was Marc Marquez, but we couldn't see the battle because the spaniard made a mistake and crashed for the first time this season, making Crutchlow to lead the race.
At the back we saw a battle for the 8th position with Petrucci, Miller, Hayden and Redding. Hayden had a battle with the australian rider but both touched each other and Hayden crashed. Another rider who crashed was Barbera with his Ducati.
Crutchlow won the Australian GP with Valentino Rossi and Maverick Viñales with them at the podium. The top 10 was completed with Dovizioso, Pol Espargaró, Lorenzo, Redding, Smith, Petrucci and Miller.
The next round of the championship will be next week at Malaysia. Let's see what the race will bring us but for now we have our eyes to the second race of the day at Austin for the F1 United States GP. See you MiniFans and remember... Be mini-good!
